The Lynchburg Community Action Group offers The Gateway Program as a residential substance abuse recovery program for homeless men.
The Gateway Program is a 2-year program and the success rate for our residents is currently 73%, which is higher than the national average. We work with an average of 45 men per year and our facility holds 24 men at a time. We hold our clients accountable for their actions with a structured program with rules and regulations and curfews. We breathalyze daily and drug test randomly and often. The Gateway has its own Masters Degreed Program Manager who serves as the substance abuse counselor and provides intensive therapy to our clients. We are also a 12-step-based program.
We provide an holistic program that involves helping clients with employment, family relationships, recovery, resume creation, life skills, interviewing skills, financial literacy, budgeting, financial management, obtaining a credit report, paying off debts and saving.
