Youth Programming

HYPE Club

HYPE stands for: Heroic. Young. Powerful. Energized. This club brings together teens who are ready to make a difference, prevent substance use and create a positive impact in our community. HYPE Club builds connections among students, empowers them to action on issues that matter, and encourages them be a part of something bigger. Through engaging activities, meaningful projects, and youth-driven initiatives, HYPE provides a platform for students to lead the way, have fun, and inspire each other to stay strong and substance-free.

Protect Your Game

Protect Your Game is a program that focuses on educating student athletes on scientific facts of how most commonly used youth substances (alcohol, nicotine, and marijuana) affect their athletic performance in an effort to promote non-use.

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is a national drug prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October. CVARR partners with Lynchburg City high schools and HYPE Club members to provide all students with exposure to prevention messaging in the form of fun and engaging events featuring a variety of creative and interactive activities.

School Wide Assemblies

CVARR partners with local school districts to bring nationally renowned youth motivational speakers to both high schools. These dynamic speakers focus on topics such as decision-making, healthy coping skills, resisting substance use, and promoting academic excellence.

Too Good for Drugs

The Too Good for Drugs curriculum provides high school students with essential social and decision-making skills through interactive activities, emphasizing the health and social consequences of substance use and its impact on future goals.

Youth Focused Engagement

CVARR provides resources and engaging alternative activities to youth centered events and activities. Examples of these activities could include a presence at local youth health fairs, school events (such as prom or back to school), and youth-focused conferences.
