Treatment
Helping to connect people to care.
Finding help for substance use can feel overwhelming. Knowing where to turn, understanding available services, and taking that first step can be difficult for individuals and families.
At CVARR, we bring community partners together to identify barriers to treatment and strengthen connections to care across Central Virginia. Our goal is a community where people can find support and stay connected throughout their journey.
How We Support Access to Treatment
Bringing Partners Together
CVARR connects treatment providers, healthcare professionals, emergency responders, recovery organizations, and other community partners to share information and address challenges that no single organization can solve alone.
Identifying Barriers to Care
Through community discussions and collaborative planning, we explore what makes treatment difficult to access—from transportation and awareness of services to gaps in referrals and follow-up. Together, we identify opportunities to make connecting with care easier.
Strengthening Connections After an Overdose
CVARR convenes local partners to examine what happens after an overdose and where people may lose connection to support. This work focuses on improving communication, referrals, and follow-up across emergency response, healthcare, treatment, and recovery services.
Building Understanding and Reducing Stigma
The way we talk about substance use matters. CVARR promotes respectful conversations that recognize each person’s experiences and encourage people to seek help without shame or judgment.
Looking for Treatment?
Whether you are seeking support for yourself or someone you care about, you do not have to navigate the process alone.
CVARR is a community coalition and does not provide clinical treatment. Contact us for help identifying local resources, or reach out directly to a treatment provider to discuss available services and next steps.
Help Strengthen Our Community’s Response
